About the Job
We’re seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to oversee the construction of our cutting-edge vertical farming projects. The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring the successful completion of the project, including planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure. This role requires a strong understanding of project management principles, as well as experience in construction and agriculture industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive project plan, including scope, objectives, timeline, and budget.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful completion of the project.
- Manage and oversee the procurement of materials, equipment, and services, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Regularly review and update the project plan, making adjustments as needed to keep the project on track and within budget.
- Monitor and control the project’s progress, identifying and addressing any issues or risks that may arise.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Establish and maintain effective communication channels with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status.
- Develop and implement effective change management processes, ensuring that any changes to the project scope are carefully considered and approved by relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinate and supervise the construction and installation of facility components, including the shelter, HVAC, dehumidification, and automation systems.
- Oversee the commissioning and testing of systems to ensure they meet the required specifications and performance criteria.
- Collaborate with the operations team to ensure a smooth transition from construction to facility operation.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Agriculture, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, with a focus on construction and/or agriculture industries.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale projects from inception to completion, meeting deadlines, and staying within budget.
- Strong understanding of project management principles and best practices, with PMP certification being a plus.
- Experience in hydroponic or vertical farming systems is a strong advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and address potential issues or risks.
- Detail-oriented and well-organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Proficient in project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project, Asana, or similar.
- Willingness to travel to the construction site as needed.
